Catch the Reading Bug Summer Camp

2nd Annual Driven to Read Challenge!!

February 1, 2008 through March 28, 2008

The Olive Hill Library partnered with the area school to challenge the students to read and accumulate the most Accelerated Reader points to win great prizes! Accelerated Reader Books were available at the Olive Hill Library and the school libraries.

April 11, 2008 was Awards Day!!

CHAMPION READERS!

The champion readers all received a bookmark, certificate,  and a t-shirt, along with their category prize: Kindergarten through 1^st grade – First Place, Quenna Kelsey of Olive Hill Elementary received a bicycle; Second Place, Caitlyn Bledsoe of Olive Hill Elementary received the Hannah Montana Movie; 2^nd through 3^rd grade – First Place, Kacy Webb of Upper Tygart Elementary received a bicycle; 4^th through 5^th grade – First Place, Micheal Knipp of Upper Tygart Elementary received a MP3 player; Second Place, Vanessa Jones of Upper Tygart Elementary received the DVD Water Horse; 6^th through 8^th grades – First Place, Josh Fields of West Carter Middle School received a $50 Wal-mart gift card; Second Place tie, Dakota Tackett and Kaleigh Underwood of West Carter Middle School, both received $25 Wal-mart gift cards.
